Children’s Ministry

Ministering to Children is a high priority for us at Mansfield Baptist Church. We value the opportunity and take seriously the responsibility of imparting Christ to the children God sends our way. We provide a safe and secure place for children to learn about God and to come to know Jesus personally. We recognize the investment that children deserve and count it a privilege to minister to them. If you have any questions about the Children’s Ministry at MBC, please email the Director of Children’s and Preschool Ministry, Dye Galloway at dye@mbclife.org.

On-Going Ministry

Sunday, 8:30 AM — Kidz Way Worship
Childcare is provided for babies through 4 year olds. For Kindergarten children and older, our children begin worship with us in the Sanctuary so they can experience and learn how to worship God.  Part-way through the service, we dismiss the elementary aged children who would like to participate to go to Kidz Way Worship which is a child-friendly time of worship with an age appropriate message for the children. Kids wanting to participate will exit the side door during the Offering time and will be escorted to the HUB (room at the end of the Adult Sunday School hall). After the 8:30 AM service, children will be escorted to their appropriate Sunday School class.

Sunday, 9:45 AM — Sunday School

A class for every age child is provided where God’s love is taught and shown to the children. The classes are fun, faith-building, and Christ-centered.

Sunday, 11:00 AM — Kidz Way Worship
Childcare is provided for babies through 4 year olds. For Kindergarten children and older, our children begin worship with us in the Sanctuary so they can experience and learn how to worship God.  Part-way through the service, we dismiss the elementary aged children who would like to participate to go to Kidz Way Worship which is a child-friendly time of worship with an age appropriate message for the children. Kids wanting to participate will exit the side door during the Offering time and will be escorted to the HUB (room at the end of the Adult Sunday School hall). After the 11:00 AM service, parents should pick up their children in the HUB (the Kidz Way Worship area).

Sunday, 6:00 PM — Kids Konnection
During our evening worship time, Kids Konnection provides an interactive time of learning for K through 5th Graders. (Nursery is provided for the infants and toddlers.)

  • Kids Konnection is a great time of learning, digging into, and developing a love for God’s Word, the Bible. The children are encouraged and challenged in fun ways to learn more about the Bible, memorize Scripture, and apply God’s Word to their lives.

Wednesday, 6:45 PM — Mission Kids and Mission Friends
The Missions Organizations teach about serving God through serving others and give opportunities for the children to experience helping others in different ways. Mission Kids teaches children K through 5th grade  about missions and involves them in mission projects. Mission Friends (classes for 2 yr olds through 5 yr olds) learn about God’s love and sharing that love. Nursery is provided for the infants and toddlers. We strive to teach and model early and often that God’s call includes loving our neighbors and showing that love.

Special Event Ministries

Vacation Bible School — Early June
VBS is one of the most important ministries we do all year long. During a week in early June, we teach the love of Christ through Bible lessons, crafts, music, recreation, and snacks. Children age 4 through 5th grade come for a week-long adventure of great learning and incredible fun. A wonderful week of VBS is capped off with Family Night on Friday night when parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends have the opportunity to come experience what the children have been doing all week. For Mansfield Baptist Church, VBS is really a community event. We have many visitors join us for that week of excitement.

Easter Egg Hunt — Palm Sunday
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is on Palm Sunday Evening. We have a traditional egg and candy hunt, other fun activities including food for the entire family. This is a fun way to celebrate the true meaning of Easter.
